Use an iPhone for package delivery alerts
A package alert works best when the camera can see the place where deliveries actually land. Snitch lets you select that area and describe the presence of a package as the condition to check.
Make the delivery area visible
Choose a stable, sheltered position with a clear view of your doormat or delivery shelf. Avoid filming more of a shared space than necessary. A camera behind glass may see reflections, especially at night; test the actual position at the times you expect to use it.
Write a condition the image can answer
Use “a package is on the doormat.” A condition such as “my order arrived” requires information the image does not contain. Boxes, envelopes, bags, and partially hidden parcels look different, so test the kinds of delivery you expect.
Confirm the full alert path
Keep Snitch open and the phone awake, powered, and online. Place a test package in view, then check the result and alert. If using a paired receiver or Apple Watch, verify that device too. A notification setting or connection problem can interrupt delivery even when the camera check matches.
Know the limits
The app cannot promise to catch every delivery or prevent theft. A parcel outside the box, low light, an obstructed view, or a missed activity trigger can prevent a match. Use delivery-provider tracking alongside your observation setup.
