Set up an iPhone pet monitor for a specific moment

The most useful pet alert answers a narrow question: “Is the cat on the counter?” Snitch can check that visible condition when motion occurs, instead of asking you to keep watching a live view.

Frame the place, not the whole room

Mount the phone where the counter, couch, or pet bed is clearly visible. Draw your watch box around that surface. Keep cables out of reach and the phone out of the animal’s path. If the pet will be hidden behind furniture, change the angle before adjusting sensitivity.

Describe a visible behavior

Try “a cat is standing on the kitchen counter” or “the dog is on the couch.” Avoid emotions or intentions such as “the dog is upset,” which cannot be established reliably from a crop. Start with one condition so a false match has an obvious cause to investigate.

Check the replay and adjust

Stage a brief test while you are present. Review the detection explanation and replay, then test the empty scene. If background movement causes too many checks, tighten the watch area or review sensitivity and scan settings. Different light and animals crossing the edge of the frame can change results.

Keep the role modest

Leave Snitch open on an awake monitoring device. You can pair a second device for alerts and encrypted shared replays. Snitch does not guarantee a complete record of your pet’s activity and should not replace supervision or veterinary advice.
